3 QIGONG WORKSHOPS THIS SEASON
WILD GOOSE QIGONG
TUESDAYS, OCT 3 – DEC 12, 4 – 5:30pm
DOVER PARK, OAKLAND
$150 ~ Register by SEPT 29 ($165 After)
Wild Goose Qigong is a breathakingly beautiful Taoist alchemical movement practice that harmonizes movement, energetic flow, and helps people experience the inheritance of their self-healing. The forms emerged over a thousand years ago, inspired by the movements of geese. In this ten-week series, our practice will concentrate on Spiral Set Four, and additionally we will practice qigong movement warm-ups and meditations. Our weekly classes will incorporate inquiries from the group, and sections from the mosaic of Wild Goose sets — each one offers different qualities of the movement of our qi. For those who have been practicing Set One, we will incorporate sections of this set as well.
In November, the class will move inside to Ellen Webb’s Studio on Union Street. The final day, December 12, is a rain date.
FALL QIGONG MINI-SERIES
THREE WEDNESDAY EVENINGS, OCT 4 – 18, 5 – 6:30pm
DOVER PARK, OAKLAND
$50 ~ Register by SEPT 29 ($70 After)
In this three-week qigong series, we will practice gentle qigong exercises focused on nourishment and health — the meditation and movements will focus on Dr. Hu’s Twelve Treasures of Wild Goose, simple practices that can be learned easily and repeated over time. Each week, we will also focus on metal movement, an aspect particularly germane to the elemental forces associated with the Fall. These qigong practices nurture our fundamental source of energy, and invite us to relax in stillness and movement. This workshop is great for all ages and abilities, for beginners as well as advanced practitioners who would like deep clarification on some qigong foundations.
WINTER QIGONG PRACTICE / PRAXIS
SUNDAY AFTERNOON, DEC 10, 2 – 5:30pm
ELLEN WEBB STUDIO, OAKLAND
$50 ~ Register by DEC 4 ($70 After)
This afternoon retreat will provide a space for deep winter qigong nourishment — of the body-being and the mind. We will practice Wild Goose meditation (in stillness and slow movement), and experience praxis through conversation, ideas, and a short reading …….. with a particular focus on Wild Goose meditation, and darkness, stillness, and the unknown, as expressed in Liu Ming’s stunning translation and notes of the Daodejing.
